After such a problematic couple of summers, it’s good to see outdoor and local events starting to reappear in Richmond and the surrounding areas.
We’ve been so excited about it we’ve sponsored two of the biggest events in the area. The Vineyard School Summer Fair and The KAOS Art Festival covering Kingston and Richmond. But these are just two of dozens of diverse things to do in Richmond this June.
So here goes, this is a quick round up of just a few of the local events that caught our eye. These five demonstrate just how varied and exciting the events are.
KAOS
Kingston Artists Open Studios or KAOS is a group of professional, semi-professional and experienced artists living and working in the Kingston and Richmond areas.
Their unfunded, voluntary group was set up in 2010 to raise the profile of and broaden access to the visual arts in Kingston. Since then, they have built up a diverse membership of artists and makers working out of their own spaces in and around the borough and now the event also covers Richmond.
Back after a hiatus caused by the pandemic the studios are once again open to the public during two weekends this June.
When and Where:
- 11th and 12th June and again on 18th and 19th of June 2022 from 11am to 5pm
- Download the brochure with details of the studio locations in Richmond and Kingston here.
- Visit the KAOS website here to find out more about the artists, their work and discover more about the event.
The Vineyard School Summer Fair
This highly popular school fair returns on 25th June at the Vineyard School and we are very proud to have been granted the opportunity to be this year’s sponsors.
The Vineyard School Summer Fair promises to be very popular, so we’d suggest you book your tickets early here.
When and Where:
- The event takes place on Saturday 25th June from 12pm until 4pm.
- The school is located at Friars Stile Rd, Richmond TW10 6NE. Download the Google location here.
Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em
The popular and legendary 1970’s comedy Some Mother’s Do ‘Ave ‘Em is coming to Richmond starring Joe Pasquale. It’s only on a limited run at Richmond Theatre starting on 31st May and ends on the 4th of June just in time for the Jubilee weekend!
When and Where:
- The show runs until the 4th of June at The Richmond Theatre
- Theatre address: Richmond Theatre, The Green, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1QJ
- You can find out more about the show, the cast and book tickets here.
Jubilee Joust
We love the idea of this one. The organisers say you can experience the sport of Kings as Knights from the country joust to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
You can pick your favourite Knight and cheer them on as they compete for the coveted Jubilee Cup.
When and Where:
- The event runs from June 1st until the 5th from 11am to 4pm
- At Hampton Court Palace
- Find out more here.
Twickenham Farmers Market
Farmers markets are a real treat. This one means you can find lots of local produce and artisan foods in the heart of Twickenham.
When and Where:
- Located in the Holly Road Car Park at the rear of Marks and Spencer
- The market is on the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th of June from 9am to 1pm
- Find out more here.
So that’s our quick round up. These are just our ‘favourite five’ but you will find lots more at Visit Richmond. See you there!
