Things to do this summer with the kids

With the school holidays fast approaching here is a quick round up of things to do with the kids in the Richmond area this summer. Balancing everything these days is tough. So we’ve looked for days out that are free or won’t break the bank.

Here are some great activity ideas that will keep the kids busy and keep the grown ups happy too:

WIDE OPEN SPACES

Richmond has many great green spaces, all free and all huge! There are usually cafes and kids areas in some, and in others, herds of deer to keep them distracted! Places like Richmond Green, The Old Deer Park and of course Richmond Park are all extremely popular, great for picnics but big enough to avoid the crowds!

THE RICHMOND MYSTERY TREASURE TRAIL

The kids can be detectives and join the treasure trail around Richmond. It’s great fun and ideal for kids over four years. It’s £9.99 per child but it is over two hours and great fun.

HAM HOUSE

Ham House is a magnificent National Trust property right on our door step. It’s open generally daily during summer and costs £14 per adult and £7 per child. The gardens and outdoor spaces are beautiful and there is a cafe and toilets.

What if we told you there were more local markets in the area than you could shake a stick at!

There are seven to visit and they all offer something different. East Sheen market provides lots of fun and things to do and we just love Twickenham Farmers Market every Saturday just behind Marks and Spencer.

We have had a wonderful experience with Parkgate and would highly recommend them. Chris was brilliant on the valuation - what we liked is he was totally honest about our chances of selling and gave us the positives and negatives about our property (such as facing a council estate!). Other agents tend to just gush over the good bits which is great, but actually not that helpful.

The selling process was great - we were given good feedback from the viewings and got the price we wanted within about 8 weeks.
